Every summer, the town square in Mariehamn turns into a festival area when Rockoff, a festival with a wide range of Nordic top artists entering the scene, is arranged. In August, the evenings grow darker, and the atmosphere turns magical creating an ideal backdrop for events such as Åland Sea Jazz, the Åland Opera Festival, and the Katrina Chamber Music Festival.
