Regional funding
Funding can be applied for productions filmed fully or partially in Åland. Eligible formats include: feature films, documentaries and tv-series. Support may be granted in the form of top financing when at least 65% of the total film production costs are secured from other sources. Support can be granted as top financing of up to 10–12,5% of eligible costs.Factors influencing the decision on support and the amount granted are based on the purchase of local services and local support, i.e., based on approved spend. Applications for support can be made by registered film production companies and they can be sent to the Åland Provincial Government throughout the year.
National incentive
Larger film productions that are shot in Åland can also combine the regional support with the national production incentive operated by Business Finland. The national incentive provides up to a 25% cash rebate on eligible costs.
