Semesterloppet running contest & family event at Käringsund Resort

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, it’s time for the 44th edition of the Semesterloppet (“Holiday run”) – hopefully once again under glorious sunshine! For the 11th year in a row, the event will offer four different distances: 12 km, 8 km, 4 km, and children’s own 1 km. Registration will be opened at the end of 2025.

The race is a tradition often called a fitness celebration for the whole family. It attracts both returning participants year after year, as well as entire vacationing families who unexpectedly find themselves at the starting line. This is a fun run where cheerful jogging enthusiasts run in the same class as those racing for a good time – everyone is equally welcome and can choose the distance that suits them best!

Another tradition taking shape is Kids’ Weekend in Käringsund held the same weekend as Semesterloppet – for the 6th time in 2026! The weekend focuses on entertainment and activities for children, but everyone who is young at heart is welcome to join in the fun!
