Concert: Evig längtan – Patricia Bergroth

The music on the album can be defined stylistically as pop ballads. There is also newly written material and new arrangements of more well-known songs. The audience is invited to a lyrical evening where the songs are interspersed with thoughts about the songs, life and Patricia’s personal experiences. Together with Åland musicians, a seamless and atmospheric evening is created. The vocal ensemble Close Enough also participates in the concert.

Patricia Bergroth has her roots both in Åland and in Ekenäs but has lived in Mariehamn since 2009. She has extensive experience as a teacher but is also a valued jazz and folk singer. Singing has taken her abroad on several occasions where she has presented the Finnish-Swedish song treasure in the USA, China and Greenland, among others. Patricia has participated extensively in choirs both as a soloist and in the soprano part. She was one of the founders of the vocal ensemble Close Enough with whom she has made several well-attended and appreciated appearances here in Åland.

Patricia has recorded several albums with the successful singles Älskade vännen min, Som en himmel and Låtsasliv on Yle Vega and Vegatoppen. She has participated in entertainment programs on Finnish Swedish TV and in a number of theater productions. She has played Stormskär’s Maja on Raseborg’s summer theater and Karen in the musical Swingsisters. In Åland, she is known as Julius Sundblom’s wife Hilda in the musical theater Ålandskungen and the priest’s wife Inger in the musical Så som i himlen. She recently joined the ensemble in the musical Sally.
