BabyOcean at Kulturvillan

Welcome to BabyOcean, a poetic and sensory dance performance where babies and their adults are invited on a gentle journey to the origins of life.

In a dreamlike underwater landscape, we encounter a world inspired by the primordial ocean and the microorganisms of the Eocene period. Here, organisms float, move, and transform in a fascinating interplay of dance, sound, light, and colour. The performance invites curiosity, presence, and the joy of discovering something new together.

BabyOcean is a nonverbal performance where the very youngest can experience art through movement, music, and the senses. The audience is invited to marvel, participate, or simply sit back and enjoy the work’s gentle and beautiful flow.

The performance lasts approximately 40 minutes and is especially aimed at babies aged 0–18 months and their adults, but it is an experience that can be enjoyed by the whole family. We warmly welcome grandparents and older adults who would like to share a unique artistic experience with the youngest generations.

About the performance

BabyOcean is created by OSIRIS teatteri and Loiske Ensemble, who have extensive experience creating performing arts for babies and young children. Their performances are based on the idea that even the youngest children should have the opportunity to encounter professional art and create shared experiences together with their adults.
