St Franciscan Days on Kökar

Franciskusfest on Kökar with the theme “The Body – an Instrument and Witness”. Without the body, there is no spirituality. Without our bodies, God has no hands, feet or eyes in the world.

The festival opens on Friday at 20:00 in S:t Anna church.

Those who wish to arrive earlier can join a walk on Kalen trail starting at 12:30, and take part in a pilgrim mass and visit an photo exhibition.

On Saturday, there will be ecumenical discussions, workshops and a choir concert. Father Charles from Gotland will celebrate a Catholic mass, and the evening prayer will be led by Mikko Leistola from the Orthodox Church.

On Sunday, you can listen to a discussion about the 800th anniversary of Francis. After the festive high mass, the traditional outdoor service will take place, with Kenneth Gustafsson as this year’s keynote speaker.
