Concert: LUNGOR

LUNGOR is a stage work in three parts, consisting of twelve songs and poetic monologues.

LUNGOR is a three-part stage work, consisting of twelve songs and poetic monologues, where music and text are woven together into a coherent story about our time, our vulnerability and our ability to continue breathing – even when the world trembles. By alternating between lyrical songs and contemporary, reflective monologues, the work moves from the social to the deeply personal:
from power structures and human dignity, to the vulnerability of love, on to life’s ultimate questions of death, memories and reconciliation.

The music moves between the intimate and the collective. The poetically written songs meet choral sound and beautifully woven arrangements for voice/guitar, flute, violin, viola, cello, double bass and piano, performed by prominent Finnish musicians.

LUNGOR is a life-affirming reflection on fragility and courage. A work about the fragility that makes us human – and about the power to, no matter what happens, continue breathing.

The album LUNGOR was nominated for Album of the Year in the Show category at the Manifest Gala in Sweden. The performance was awarded the Performer Shark at the Finfringe Festival in Turku, an award given to an artist who has distinguished himself through a particularly interesting and captivating stage performance. Matteus Blad was awarded the Barbara Helsingius Prize 2024 for his artistic work.
