Åland sports week 2026

Åland Sport Week is a different sports event, where sports that are otherwise rarely found under the same umbrella, do a common thing. The athletes can choose their own direction and competition format and we will see unusual forms of competition.

This summer, the following sports will be on the program:

Bowling – Åland Bowling Association & Mariehamn Pensioners Association
Disc golf – AX Disc golf
Dynamic sport shooting (IPSC) – Åland Sport Shooting Association
Athletics – ÅID/ IF Åland
Gymnastics / Special Olympics – Gymnastics Åland
Ice hockey – IFK Mariehamn Ice hockey
Orienteering – IF Åland orientation
Padel – Mariehamn Lawn Tennis Club
Swimming – Åland Swimming Association
Powerlifting – Åland Power Sports Club
Tennis – Mariehamn Lawn Tennis Club

Åland Sport Week was arranged for the first time on 29-30 June 2024, as a joint project between Åland Sports, Visit Åland, the city of Mariehamn and participating sports associations. In total, approximately 200 athletes participated in seven different sports; beach volleyball, bench press, disc golf, tennis, roller skiing, swimming and shooting.
August 13 – 16, 2025, competitions were arranged in bowling, bench press, swimming, street basketball and tennis. At the same time, training camps were offered in gymnastics – Special Olympics

The goal of ÅSW is to create an annual sports event with surrounding events for both Åland residents and visiting participants.
